THE OT JOURNEY

If you're new to this process I'm sure you have loads of questions. Below is a basic outline of the steps involved but we encourage you to get in touch to discuss your child's individual needs.

STEP 1
Initial Interview

After making contact with us, we will set up a meeting to discuss the areas you feel need addressing as well as your child's medical, birth, developmental and sensory-motor history.

This is a 30 minute consultation and is included in the initial assessment fee.

STEP 2
Assessment

The Occupational Therapist will carry out a comprehensive assessment of your child using a variety of standardised and non-standardised assessments and play based clinical observations.

Depending on your child's age, this may take place over 1-2 sessions.

STEP 3
Feedback & Written Report

After your child's assessment, your therapist will arrange to meet to discuss the outcomes and recommendations. A written report will follow which summarizes the assessment findings.

Should your child require therapy, we will formulate and develop meaningful goals for occupational therapy intervention.
